Fans of the series, “Parenthood” are waiting with bated breath as to when Season 5 gives us a look into the Braverman clan again. We left off with an ending that resolved many problems for the Berkley California family but with enough to keep us intrigued for the rest of the story.
Amber reunites with her true love in an emotional few moments, Sarah chooses between a heartbroken Mark and Hank, who wants Sarah to move with him to Minnesota so he can be near his daughter. Team Braverman became one member larger, with the adoption of Victor by parents Julia and Joel. The curtain doesn’t come down until we find out Jasmine and Crosby are expecting. Kristina has put up a strong fight and overcome her breast cancer. On a happier note, Drew is accepted into college, becoming the first of Sarah’s family to go. Whew! What an ending.
Now, we wait. We wait for the next steps to be taken by our favorite family.
Season 5 insight comes from none other than the creator of the show in an interview with TV Line. When asked about whether or not Ray Romano or Jason Ritter will be in Season 5, it seems it depends on availability of the actors.
When it comes to both Jason Ritter and Ray Romano, I feel like we have to think about those stories in a way where it’s a possibility that it will end their arc. The availability of those actors we just don’t know. They’re both wonderful actors, very much in demand. We’ve been so lucky to have both of those guys on the show – Ray for the whole season, and Jason for a good chunk of the series. And as you can see with Jason’s arc over the course of the series, he’s come back and forth based on his availability. We didn’t really intend for it to close the door on either of the actors…We don’t know what’s going to happen next year because we don’t yet know if we have a next season, but the process will hopefully be that we do get another season and at that point we’ll let story drive these decisions.
Amber and Ryan left the scene with a love story that was just beginning. Ryan was doing better with his anxiety and PTSD from the experiences he had in Afghanistan. Jason Katims claims the return and follow-up on the Amber and Ryan relationship depends on the availability and interest of Matt Lauria.
