Is Sandy Hook a hoax?

The December 2012 shootings at a Connecticut school made “Sandy Hook Elementary” a household name for “school shooting.” Now the name “Sandy Hook” may be taking on a different moniker: that of a government - created hoax, according to some groups.

The debate continues on the World Wide Web. Videos are posted on Youtube, to include footage reportedly shot the day of the shooting. While Facebook pages have been created to memorialize the victims, some pages are created to “reveal” the “scam.”

Conspirators are blaming everyone, from the United States President to the Connecticut state police department, for the alleged cover-up. There are claims that “crisis actors” are portraying the victims. Citing “inappropriate behaviors” and the resemblance between the living, the dead, and people in similar tragedies fuel the rumors. For example, according to one Youtube poster, two of the Sandy Hook grieving parents and one slain boy are identified as actors out of Florida.

There are photographs being scrutinized, to include one photo of President Obama posing with a victim’s family. The photo supposedly includes a “murdered” child.

“Not only do they want to take away your Second Amendment ... if you disagree you will be prosecuted” explains one video. Others feel the “hoax” is part of a large conspiracy to take away guns from citizens. The “shooting” was created as a means to propose anti-gun legislation, a “gun control agenda.”

First responders will confirm it is difficult to gauge how someone will act when they lose a loved one. Families and friends were interviewed immediately after the shooting, facing a barrage of cameras and microphones. Besides trying to sort out emotions, average people were forced to talk about something they had no grasp of -- all before the world. To get the story first, the media swarmed in and led with half-truths and “may have beens.”

In order to create such as large scale hoax, many people would have to be involved. It is difficult to imagine not one of those people (an actor, a police officer, school staff, extended family of those reportedly lost) telling someone the truth.

If those slain are, in fact, alive, where would they go? Wouldn’t the extended families have something to say about a loved one being declared dead? If Sandy Hook was a hoax, it involved many people who must operate together for a length of time. If Sandy Hook was not a hoax, think of those who are truly mourning and this second victimization. Some people are going above and beyond to disgrace President Obama and the victims and many are falling for the ruse ... similar to propaganda that began, less than one hundred years ago, in Germany.
