Is Online Marketing The Way to Your Mate Affections? (Photos)

"Why?" I ask, do I find in my e mail last week: "Hardwood Floors - A perfect Valentine's gift" ?

C'mon Service Magic...is your 'e'vertising so yang that it hasn't heard those stories about women who get vacuum cleaners for Christmas and what happens to the person that gave it?

That floor better be covered with rose petals, include a bear rug in front of a crackling fireplace, punctuated by champagne bottles, romantic verse, a favorite sweet sensation, and soft scented candles.

Because the scent of a new hardwood floor would only remind me that I have to clean it. So next year I'll get a mop?

Here's some advice: The way to a woman's affections is through the doors of a great restaurant. Preferably a cuisine she adores. Dress the part, bring a small token of your appreciation, and your wallet. It's a lot cheaper than a new floor, and the intended results are quicker.

And if you are cooking at home, I recommend the following menu ~ Make it light if you plan to make love. A fresh Greek Salad, with Romaine lettuce, Greek Olives, fresh Feta cheese, beets, cherry tomatoes and a very lemony dressing, made with Coeur D Olives Lemon infused olive oil, (Yes,I am addicted). See recipe below for a great Greek Dressing.

One bottleof good wine, a baguette, and a Greek Salad for two:

Make the salad dressing first: so the flavors have a chance to meld.

Three Tablespoons of Coeur D Olives Lemon Infused Olive Oil
, with one clove of garlic crushed into it, let sit for ten minutes to get the most value from the antioxidents in the garlic but don't keep the garlic in for the dressing, take it out and recycle it in another dish....(like if you are sauteing fish or steak.)

2 Tablespoons of Girards Champaign Dressing

1.5 teasopoons dried Tarragon

1/2 teaspoon dried Oregano

1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper

1 Tablespoon Hellman's Mayonnaise

Wisk together and set aside - now onto making the salad:

Lightly Toast and cut into squares (your own croutons) one large slice of Trader Joe's Corn Rye Bread

One large head of Romaine lettuce, rinsed and chopped into bite size pieces

ten cherry tomatos sliced into halves

one medium sized cooked red beet

one handful of good olives

one red scallion, sliced finely

three tablespoons of fresh Feta Cheese (plain is preferred as your dressing

will already have fresher seasonings defining the flavors in the dish.)

one or two fresh Crimini mushrooms sliced as thin as possible

Toss the salad lightly, add dressing sparingly, and serve immediately with a glass of wine and fresh bread from The Bicycle Cafe
