Popular ‘Y&R’ actor, Michael Muhney caused quite a stir when he was fired from the role of ‘Adam Newman’ late last year.

Regardless of the alleged accusations (see below), Muhney’s fan base has remained strong and supportive.

So when ‘Y&R’ put out a casting call for ‘Aaron Newton’ – Muhney’s fans figured the role was really a recast of ‘Adam.’

Fans have been buzzing about the possibility of Muhney returning to the popular CBS soap. And just recently, there was an interesting item in ‘Soap Opera Digest.’

According to ‘SOD’ (via Michael Fairman), ‘Insiders report Michael Muhney could be back in the mix to reprise the role.’ And it gets better; the actor was reportedly ‘spotted at the Y&R studios.’

A rep from ‘Y&R’ refrained to make a comment on the ‘rumor.’

So what does this mean? Will Michael Muhney return to the soap as the conniving ‘Adam?’

In January, TMZ reported that Muhney’s exit was due to the actor sexually harassing his co-star Hunter King (Summer). According to TMZ, the actor allegedly ‘bullied’ the 20 year old actress more than once.

Per TMZ, ‘Muhney allegedly bullied and harassed … King…. She went to higher-ups and complained recently Muhney had fondled her breasts on two occasions -- and she said both were unsolicited and unwanted.’

TMZ further reported that the alleged incidents with King ‘broke the camel’s back’ over at ‘The Young and the Restless.’

Fans last saw Muhney on air January 30.

‘The Young and the Restless’ airs weekdays at 12:30 on Detroit’s local CBS affiliate WWJ.
