There have been many “General Hospital” casting rumors since Michelle Stafford made her first appearance as Nina Clay. The newest rumor is that Michael Muhney will join the cast, possibly as A.J. Quartermaine.
When last “General Hospital” fans saw A.J. Quartermaine he had been shot by mob boss Sonny Corinthos and died in the arms of Carly Jacks. However, on June 23, a report surfaced that A.J. Quartermaine may not be dead and that Michael Muhney may assume the role formerly held by Sean Kanaan.
There have also been rumors that former “Young and the Restless” cast mate Billy Miller is also joining “General Hospital.” Miller took home the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series on Sunday, June 23. The Emmy was for his portrayal of Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless.
There has been no official confirmation from either “General Hospital” or Billy Miller, but many speculate that Miller has been cast as Jason Morgan. This role was played for 21 years by Steve Burton, who left “General Hospital” approximately 18 months again for the role of Dylan McAvoy on “The Young and the Restless.” There are also rumors that Miller may be cast as Lucky Spencer and that Michael Muhney may be cast as Jason Morgan.
If the casting rumors are true, Miller and Muhney will be a great addition to the cast of “General Hospital.” There are several storylines to which the characters of Lucky Spencer, Jason Morgan and A.J. Quartermaine would add dimension. On Sunday, June 22, Billy Miller won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his work as Billy Abbott on "The Young and the Restless."
Lucky Spencer could be added to the storyline involving “Fake Luke” and the “death” of former wife Elizabeth Webber’s boyfriend Ric Lansing. Jason Morgan could become an intragral part of the storyline involving his “widow” Samantha Morgan, Nina Clay and Silas Clay. Adding A.J. Quartermaine back into the cast of characters on “General Hospital” would add intrigue to an upcoming storyline involving the possibility of mob boss Sonny Corinthos death. All three are strong male characters that fans would like to see added back to the cast of “General Hospital.” Billy Miller and Michael Muhney from “The Young and the Restless” would have a built in fan base.
