Is Lil Wayne dead? Nope. The rapper is the latest death hoax victim. On Dec. 16, rumors that Weezy died spread like wildfire thanks to hundreds of fans tweeting "RIP Lil Wayne" and passing around unofficial reports of his death from no-name sources. According to Hollywood Life, Lil Wayne is alive and well -- and that has been confirmed.

"At least Lil Wayne knows how much his fans care about him! The rapper, who suffers from epileptic seizures and has been falsely reported dead several times in the past, received an outpouring of love from supporters who had been deceived by [yesterday's] death hoax," Hollywood Life reports.

Lil Wayne dead rumors have popped up on the Internet every now and then, mainly since the rapper revealed that he suffered from epilepsy. When fans here a rumor or see "RIP Lil Wayne" written on social media, it's believable -- just because of Weezy's recent health issues. However, these rumors shouldn't be spread unless there is confirmation from someone in Lil Wayne's camp.

Remember, when you hear about a celebrity death, you should always check a reputable source before sending out an "RIP" message on Facebook or Twitter. People who don't validate information tend to help spread rumors which only sadden fans for no reason.

Lil Wayne is not dead and fans who fell for the hoax are happy it's just that... a hoax.
