Kristin Scott Thomas, 53, has decided to quit acting in movies, according to a Feb. 3 Express report. Kristin recently told The Guardian she is bored with acting and simply “can’t cope” with it anymore. She said she is tired of being used to boost a film for someone else.
Scott Thomas has appeared in over 75 films, working in both English and French, over the past thirty years. Many of her films, including “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “The English Patient” have been critically acclaimed.
“Although I haven’t spoken to Kristin yet, I see her point about not wanting to do small roles just to boost a movie, but I believe if the right role came along she’d do it in a heartbeat. Cher and Barbara Streisand have been doing farewell tours since the 70s and yet they are still making music. I don’t believe we’ve seen the last of Kristin Scott Thomas either.”
Vinnie’s wife is Kristin’s sister, actress Serena Scott Thomas of James Bond movie fame.
Scott Thomas isn’t the first star to announce being done with films. Amanda Bynes and Kevin Smith both made similar declarations, but neither stuck to it for long.
