Keeping Up With The Kardashians has been airing for several years now and will continue to air in years to come -- at least according to a $40 million contract they signed last year with Ryan Seacrest Productions. However, a new report seems to hint that the show may be cut from E!'s lineup earlier than expected.
"The show has lost nearly 1 million viewers per [season] since Season 5," Radar Online reports. "In 2010 Season 5 premiered with a whopping 4.67 million viewers and held steady with an overall season average of 3.39 million. Throughout the next three seasons the show entered into a downward spiral and Season 8 finale that aired Dec. 1, 2013 raked in a disappointing 1.96 million viewers."
The ratings have continuously dropped, and numbers don't lie. So, what is it that is turning off fans? It could be a number of things, but one documented issue seems to be Kim's ties to Kanye. Since they began dating, Kim has shied away from the cameras, and once North West arrived, she became even more private which fans haven't taken to very well. After all, exposing every detail of her life is what she's known for.
"Since getting romantically involved with Kim, her baby daddy Kanye West‘s likability has nosedived by a whopping 66 percent, according to the influential Q Scores, a closely watched measure of recognition and popularity that marketers use to evaluate celebrities' appeal," the site adds.
