Kate Gosselin is back on TLC with her eight children for new episodes of Kate Plus 8 and some people are already wondering if she's using her kids for fame and fortune. According to Radar Online, the claims are being made by author Robert Hoffman, who has written a tell-all book about Kate.
Hoffman claims that Kate was obsessed with the idea of being famous and that her wishes stemmed from years ago. When her twins, Mady and Cara, were born, Kate had headshots of them taken and wanted them to be her money makers. When she realized that twins didn't make her "special," Kate allegedly found a new way to "make it." Her sextuplets were her key to success... that is, if you believe Hoffman.
Kate Gosselin became obsessed with a woman named Bobbi McCaughey, famous for having septuplets. McCaughey had everything "gifted" to her -- and Kate wanted that for herself and for her children according to Hoffman. What's interesting is that Kate didn't seem to really dive into fame until after she and Jon were already knee deep in their lives with eight kids. It's hard to imagine that Kate purposely tried to get pregnant with multiples in hopes of having a reality show -- and fame and fortune.
Even still, Hoffman claims that Kate is using her kids to her advantage. Although her family circumstance has afforded her many wonderful opportunities (she competed on Dancing With The Stars and will be on the new season of Celebrity Apprentice), some people look at said opportunities as Kate taking advantage of her situation, which may or may not be true.
A lot of people actually like Kate and believe that she deserves to be "famous" if that's what she wants. Do you think Hoffman is right or are you a Kate supporter?
