This past Thursday evening, the 20-year-old Canadian heartthrob proudly updated his followers about spending some time in the studio with rapper Lil Wayne. Along with the updates on Twitter, Bieber also uploaded a couple photos of himself with the Young Money rapper in front of audio mixers with the caption, "Me and Tunechi in the studio" on the first, and "me and wayne" on the following photograph.
YMCMB member Birdman also released an image from that night's alleged session. Along with a picture capturing the three together, Birdman paired it with the caption, "Latenite studio flow @justinbieber music amazin @birdman5star RG YMCMB." Now while it isn't for certain that Weezy and JB were making another collaborative effort, it can be inferred because of Justin's hinting Tweets from that evening, and also since the duo didn't leave the studio until 6 a.m. the following morning.
Lately, Bieber seems to spending more and more time with not only YMCMB artists, but many hip-hop artists and producers. Is The Biebs possibly wanting to segue into rap? It appears as if Bieber has been trying to do so for a few years now. Since the end of 2010 and transition into 2011, Bieber has indicated an interest in a rap career.
As evidence, in 2011, his album titled "Never Say Never: The Remixes" contained features from Chris Brown, Kanye West and even Wu-Tang clan member Raekwon. Around the same time, Justin did a feature on a Chris Brown track produced by David Banner titled "Ladies Love Me," and California rapper Tyga also remixed Bieber's "Stuck In The Moment"; the two have also since collaborated again.
Whether it's a genuine musical venture or just a move to keep fans guessing, an eye will need to be kept on Bieber and Wayne in the future.
