On last night's Billboard Music Awards, Michael Jackson, in hologram form, performed "Slave to the Rhythm" halfway through Sunday night's show with a five-piece band and 16 dancers live onstage.
Justin Timberlake confiscated seven awards at last night's entertaining spectacle filled with explosive performances and visually vivacious colors & costumes. Timberlake always sweeps the award shows and rightfully so; the man is incredibly talented.
Michael Jackson has won a total of thirty five billboard awards before his wildly successful career came to a screeching halt when he passed away in early 2009. While Justin Timberlake has already won a decent amount of awards with N'sync and his commercially and critically successful solo albums, 'Justified,' 'Future/Sex/Love/Sounds,' & 'The 20/20 Experience,” only time will tell if JT will achieve the out of this world success that MJ did and currently still does. His latest album produced by Timbaland & Danja just took the number one spot on the Hot 100 Billboard chart.
Could JT be the new MJ, or is there still another musician out there who could bust onto the pop scene in the upcoming year? Timberlake is ridiculously talented and literally everything he touches turns to gold, but maybe there's another hungry, talented star ready for his close up. With so many talented singers splattered across singing competition shows across the planet, it should be no surprise to the world when a Michael Jackson esque type of singer with swag and chops changes the world of pop music and follows in the footsteps of a musical icon. He obviously has to be a great dancer as well. Jackson not only had stage presence, a killer voice and star quality, he could dance his ass off! Who is the next MJ?
