One thing all Americans commonly agree upon on any given day is that the members of Congress cannot be trusted.
The circus act that comes out of Washington is less than desirable entertainment performances that contain deceit and gross misrepresentation to put it politely.
When Congress was formed in the 1700’s, they would take their horse and buggy, walk, or ride their horses across rugged terrain to meet at the capital to represent the views of the citizens of their area.
The telegraph was yet to be introduced for public use for forty years after the formation of Congress. The pony express was yet to become organized. There were no train tracks within the United States.
There was a necessity in the 1700’s for each area to have an individual travel to the capitol to represent the constituents of each district.
Today we not only have phone service, we have television, radio, the internet and the ATM system for the banks to transfer money instantly across the country.
Do, “We The People” need a group of Congressmen who are subject to bribery, persuaded by individuals waving their personal dirty laundry over their heads as being held hostage against their common sense and good will to deceive the citizens of the United States of America in order to forward their own personal agenda, gain power and control over the American People.
Are the American People capable of voting, for or against laws that affect them and their families’ welfare.
Some may argue that the cost of the American People voting on everything would be very expensive. Would elimination of Congressional Salaries offset this cost? Would the elimination of Congressional Expense Accounts that include private jets and 5 Star hotels offset this cost.
Some may argue that most of the Bills that Congress votes on are very complicated and legal language that is too difficult for many Americans to understand. Would it be a good idea to write the bills in plain English that any High School student could understand? Would it be a good idea to make each bill for only 1 LAW to be voted upon, rather than 1000’s of pages of deceitful trickery written into legal garb buried deep within these bills?
Some may argue that many Americans are not educated enough to understand the complex responsibilities included within many of these bills. Would this not generate a demand for ALL AMERICANS to receive a quality education?
Some may argue that people would not be interested enough to vote on every bill that is very important or that bills may come up that the media ignores and the people would still become deceived into having laws passed that were not to their best interest. Would it be fair to the American People to only allow bills to pass and laws to go into effect that actually received a full 51% of ALL registered voters of that area to approve any law in order for it to come into practice?
Is it time to give Congress their pink slip, or continue the circus in Washington?
If the People of the United States were to bring action before the Supreme Court, neither Congress nor the President may overturn the decision. This is the fail safe put in place by the Forefathers of our country.
