Secular paleontologists believe that the dinosaur fossils they are finding and depicted in most natural history museums (except creation museums) are animals that died and came to rest on a sandbank next to a relatively slow moving lake or river and became fossilized over millions of years. Dinosaurs were not likely ever turned into fossils by gradual covering of their dead bodies by the normal operation of rivers, streams, and lakes as is usually illustrated in secular dinosaur guidebooks. For an entire dinosaur skeleton to have been fossilized it would have required it to have been buried rapidly and completely with massive amounts of water-borne sediments like those we can imagine were part of the cataclysmic worldwide flood at the time of Noah (Genesis 6-9). Evidences that this happened can be seen by how the fossils are found.
Graveyards of jumbled masses of bones from dinosaurs or other animals show them partially articulated but usually they are totally disarticulated. A complete fossil skeletal find is extremely rare. The result of a catastrophe is what we most often see at the site of dinosaur fossil finds, not gradual uniformitarian geological action.
The "opisthotonic posture" that is found in fairly complete dinosaur remnants are found in a characteristic pose where the head is thrown back, the hind limbs bent, and the tail extended. Veterinarians have reported that animals often go into opisthotonic posture shortly before they die, possibly due to muscle spasms. It is thought that the spasms may be the result of a central nervous system failure as animals are dying. There has been dinosaur fossil skeletons recovered in this death pose. this fits well with the biblical explanation that every thing in the Flood that had the breath of life in its nostrils died (Genesis 7:21-22). What we see in the dinosaur death posture, is a snapshot of the last dreadful moments of these creatures as they fought to stay alive.
Fossilized clams show a rapid burial caused their death. When living clams and similar shelled types of invertebrates die, their shells open up soon after death. But clams that are fossilized are found with their shells closed which shows that they were buried alive! These clams are found all over the world, not only on the coasts of continents but also on mountain tops such as Mt. Everest.
Fish coprolites (feces) found in limestone are evidence for rapid burial because coprolites dissolve in water within 24 hours.
Apostle Peter in Second Peter three verse through six tell us that people who are scoffers of the Word of God do not believe that it was Noah's Flood that destroyed all air breathing life (except for those on the Ark) during the worldwide flood. They believe that everything was the same as it was from the beginning. Same concept as uniformitarianism and its million of years. Charles Lyell who was untiring advocate for uniformitarianism believed that presupposing that present observable geological operations are the key to all past geology. "The present is the key to the past".
"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water. Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished" (2 Peter 3:3-6).
