Is it good to be back to the future?

Do you remember the movie Back to the Future Part II? It was the 1989 American Science fiction comedy film and the second installment of the Back to the Future trilogy. This installment takes Marty into the future to be exact October 21, 2015. Can you believe that is less than 2 years from now!

They called it the future, but it really is the now! Having watched this movie a thousand times you can now see this culture is living the future you watched as a movie not so long ago. “Science Fiction” is now “Science Fact.”

Who knew in 1985, the cell phone, the microwave, the PC, the iphone, ipad, facetime, twitter, and facebook would be the norm by 2015? Who Knew?

For goodness sake, Clark Kent wouldn’t be able to find a phone booth to change into Superman if his life depended on it. Movies once silent are now seen in 3D, and music is now purchased on Itunes instead of the record store.

The future has transformed this nation this is true, however the human condition, and the planet has paid the price both positively and negatively. Speed has become a way of life and the body is paying a heavy cost. Most Americans are sleep deprived, they get little or no exercise, the stress of day to day living has folks kicking, fighting, and streaming through normal daily tasks. Patience is a virtue no longer practiced, anger management classes are on the rise and extreme measures are easier to navigate then the art of negotiation.

This culture now lives in a world, of how quick, and how fast, do you get from point A to point B. Everything is quick, fast and in a hurry! Americans don’t enjoy the comforts of easy living under any circumstances, families need a vacation from the vacation trying to fit in all kinds of activities that mean nothing more than being able to say, been there done that!

Fast food has replaced, the knife, fork, and spoon, meals where families once shared around the dinner table are now shared from the front and back seat of the Mini Van. Text messaging has replaced talking, and the cell phone has earned a 24/7 place in your life. You are nobody, or nothing, if you don’t have the latest and most up to date gadget that does nothing more than isolate you even further from human contact.

If it doesn’t come in a pill or a potion, if it can’t be tucked or tied, if you can’t cook it and/or eat it in less than 10 minutes you are angry, upset, and ready to yell at someone. In order for you to feel better someone one is bound to feel bad, because they are unable to meet the timeline.

Back to the future may be beneficial for some, but not to everyone.
