Alana Thompson aka Honey Boo Boo, took to her official Facebook page, via her Facebook manager, to post a picture of herself late Thursday night, clad in a tight Hello Kitty pajama shirt and holding a box of Skittles. Alana claimed a fan left the Skittles at the door of her house for Valentine's Day.
The picture sparked some controversy however. Not only did fans and commenters warn her not to eat a random box of candy for safety reasons, but many were commenting on Honey Boo Boo's weight, which is prominently displayed in her tight pajamas.
Some of the comments got downright nasty as critics jeered the 7-year-old child pageant Queen and reality TV child star, saying:
"Not trying to be mean, but someone needs to be watching her weight she does not have good genetics," said a fan with the initials SC.
A critic, KP, added, "Looks like about two months left before Honey Boo Boo gives birth."
Another person with the initials KPK chimed in with, "Watch your weight."
Finally, a back-handed compliment came from someone with the initials CAA, "She is so cute but it is time to start exercising! Love her!"
Last week, Honey Boo Boo's Facebook manager, Bobbi, and Alana's mother, June "Mama" Shannon (who has reportedly lost over 100 pounds herself), scolded commenters and warned that if attacks against Boo continued, they would delete their comments and users could be banned.
"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is currently on hiatus, scheduled to return in May for season two on TLC.
