The Presidential election of the United States is over and we have another four years of enduring the same thing and more than we went through during the last four years. With this year’s campaigning being the most hateful and untruthful speaking about the challenger, has anyone actually thought about what is happening in our world, in our nation? This nation is very divided. We have states that pass laws for gay marriages and for the legal use of Marijuana. Do you think that maybe the storms over a huge part of our country were a coincidence or maybe an angry higher power is not pleased with what is happening and sent it? And another storm over the same area is taking place at the very moment of this writing! Has anyone analyzed why these things are happening?
First of all, ask yourself is it all right to lie even for a politician, especially if he is the highest leader of the nation- the president- over the most powerful nation in the world? Is it alright to call his opponents pundits, and crass names? Is this the kind of example we want for our children? Is it alright for the media to be partial in their reporting of the news so that the majority of listeners and watchers get only what the reporters want them to hear and see? Are our children learning good manners and politeness? Or are they learning to be hateful and rude?
Do you think that maybe God is angry about what is happening? Or do you think that God even cares?
One of the issues that some women mentioned that made them vote the way they voted was the issue of abortion or a woman’s right to choose. What does that mean? It means being given the right to have an abortion or more accurately to choose to 'kill her unborn child!' Some will say that it is the right to choose what they want to do with their bodies! What is the difference? It also has to do with birth control. Most of those who were concerned were single women! What do they want with birth control if they are not married? What does that automatically tell you? It means that these young unmarried girls want the right to commit fornication and then if they get pregnant have the right to “kill” the fetus! They want to break one Commandment and then have the right to break another Commandment so they don’t have to suffer the consequences! How were these young women brought up? When the majority elect a President because they believe that he will give them these kinds of rights, then what does that tell you about his values and concerns? And what does it tell you about the values of those who voted for him? Can you see where this nation and the world is going and why God is not happy about what this nation is doing?
All this examiner can say is that we as a nation need to come before God on our knees and repent and pray for His forgiveness. Pray that He will help us see ourselves as He sees us and that He will grant us forgiveness and help us to change our ways!
If we don't this is what God said would happen to our nation!
- Deuteronomy 28:15: "But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:"
- Verse 20: "The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me. (NKJV)
If we repent then this is what God says He will do for us!
- 2 Chronicles 7:14: "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (NKJV)
- Deuteronomy 28:1: "Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. (NKJV)
These are God's promises!
