Is God being revealed through Christians today?

On Sunday, Oct. 20, at Rock City Church in Baltimore, Senior Pastor Bishop Bart Pierce reminded the church of their ultimate calling. The title of the sermon was "God wants to be revealed through us."

This kind of talk is intended to grab the attention of a listener's spirit man. The Pastor asked a simple question.

"If church people are called then what are they called to?" Ministry was a logical response. While that answer was not wrong it did not give truth enough justice. Pastor Pierce provided the following scripture to back up his claim.

We read the parable about the "wedding feast" in Matthew 22:1-14. In these verses Jesus compared the kingdom of heaven to a feast that had been meticulously prepared, where servants were sent out to call those that were chosen and invited to come.

We also reviewed the following verses: John 4:31-38. The disciples wanted Jesus to eat. All Jesus could see were the white fields ready to be harvested. The harvest is our ultimate calling.

We are sent to a spiritual harvest where lost souls are brought into God's kingdom. It is the reason for all the ministries. He went on to advise that "some saints have lost their wow factor and become familiar with God and the movement."

This is why it is imperative that a Christian occasionally check his or her focus by asking and honestly answering this question. Is God being revealed through me?

Non-Christian readers: Help us out by asking a Christian that you know the following question. What must I do to be saved?

We have been challenged to throw off a religious spirit and get busy in the harvest! If you need an example of what that kind of focus looks like then remember how Jesus responded when the disciples advised him to eat. I have meat to eat that ye know not meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work...lift up your eyes and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. (John 4:31-35)
