Is female sexual dysfunction real?

Female Sexual Dysfunction is the new term designated by the makers of a drug that is supposed to "treat" female anorgasmia. Female anorgasmia is the inability of a woman to climax. Many women experience this at one point or another, but is it something that needs to be diagnosed and treated with pills?

Orgasm Inc., a new documentary explores this phenomenon via the drug company that wants to have the medication approved by the FDA. LA Weekly's Barbie Davenport wrote extensively on the subject of the documentary and the psuedocondition, "Female Sexual Dysfunction."

Unlike male erectile dysfunction, which is physical in nature, female anorgasmia is usually more psychological than it is physical. However, there are physical circumstances that can cause a problem, such as an inattentive lover. Yes it is possible that she takes a while longer than her partner to reach orgasm, but if he doesn't put in the work and effort that it takes to help reach climax, no pill is going to help her. Getting a woman to orgasm isn't rocket science. It just takes a little more than hopping on top of her, like a horizontal pogo stick.
