The Facebook social network and the mobile phone manufacturer HTC are supposedly working together on a Facebook phone. According to Bloomberg it would be a social smartphone that could be presented as early as mid next year. Bloomberg has received the information from industry insiders.
According to informant's, the original launch was scheduled for late 2012. However, Facebook has agreed to postpone the launch of the Facebook smartphone by about half a year. HTC should now have the opportunity to initially develop in-house products.
Additionally, Facebook now has a handful of Apple developers who have signed on to the iPhone and iPad app to improve it. In the past, this app has repeatedly caused dissatisfaction among Apple users.
Cooperation between Facebook and HTC is nothing new. HTC and Facebook have already worked together before, when the two HTC smartphones Salsa and ChaCha were presented with the Facebook button. In June of this year, a designer also has presented a concept called the Blue Phone. Official information from HTC or Facebook about the phone, has not been brought forward yet.
