Rumors that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving "The View" and will be replaced by Brooke Shields are reportedly not true. On Monday, March 11, 2013, Barbara Walters confirmed that Hasselbeck is not getting fired from the talk show.
Walters walked on the set arm-in-arm with Hasselbeck on Monday and told viewers that she wanted to talk about a "particularly false story," stating that the opposing political views that Elisabeth expresses on the show were not forcing her out.
However, that doesn't mean that Hasselbeck won't leave on her own.
Walters suggested that the co-host might leave the show and if that's the case, she's fine with that. She stated that whatever her colleagues want for themselves is what she wants as well.
Hasselbeck, 35, is politically conservative and has clashed with her co-hosts frequently on "The View." It's long been noted that Barbara Walters and Hasselbeck do not agree on world and national issues.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck joined "The View" in 2003. Whether she will actually leave is still up in the air, but according to Walters, she is not being forced out.
