Sometimes a prank isn't as funny as it seems and when you fake a response it shows. On the TBS show Deal With It, this week fans watch as Kendall and Kylie Jenner, reality stars of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, are in control. While the reality show offers a hint of fun, the fans might be disappointed as there is already a huge debate if the response from the first clip are fake. According to Reality TV magazine on Wednesday, Kendall and Kylie gasped in surprise and the majority of fans felt it was completely phony.
The set up seen in the clip is simple, a guy takes a girl on a date in a restaurant. However, what he says is controlled by Kendall and Kylie Jenner as he is wired with a small listening device in his ear. Which leads to a rude remark by the unsuspecting woman. And the rude remark is sometimes connected to the Jenner sisters on comment boards and online comments. The sisters act shocked (or maybe they were shocked.) Going off script the two stars decide to sit near the woman in the restaurant and make her feel uncomfortable. What happens next is supposed to surprise the fans watching the show.
Producer Howie Mandel and all his crew definitely could have a hit on their hands with this reality show, but the problem with this clip, as well as the show, is that it needs to be believable. Plus people shouldn't be humiliated for their views about reality stars. That’s not to say the gossip is true, but watching someone be put on the spot by teenagers isn't very interesting. In fact that probably happens every day to some parents (and it might even be a tidbit annoying.)
The show hasn't been watched in the entirety, but people are jumping to conclusions. As seen before, this type of debate sinks television ratings quickly. Viewers don’t like to be made for fools and the idea that response was fake taints the whole episode.
Deal With It should definitely say if this was real or fake (after it airs of course.) And let’s hope Howie Mandel responds too. The man is a straight shooter and he knows the fans want a good show without all the fake rumors hanging over it.
