Ask any twenty-something girl about chivalry and likely she will tell you chivalry is dead. Guys no longer open doors or make sweet gestures or even acknowledge girls. Not only that, but it actually seems as though rudeness is running rampant on college campuses. Many twenty-something guys can even be seen letting doors shut in the faces of girls they later plan to dance on at the local hangout.
But is chivalry really dead, or just severely wounded? While chivalry may be absent on college campuses, there is still hope out in the real world. This means that girls who are looking for their prince charming should not fret just yet. Even though graduation may be nearing, and there is no boyfriend in sight, that does not mean all hope is lost.
Many young people have been told by their parents that college is the place to find the person you will spend the rest of your life with. While this may be true for some, it is not a one size fits all scenario. Given the small minority of guys in college who actually practice chivalry, most girls will find that their prince awaits outside the confines of a university.
