Is Casey Anthony To Get More Opportunities To Cash In?

A Pennsylvanian who has followed Anthony's trial since the beginning named Tommy Joseph is disgusted by very the thought of her profiting from the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

As he had been shocked and enraged by her no guilty verdict, he admitted to taking the matter to Facebook and organizing a large protest outside of NBC's Today show that had then been rumored that Matt Lauer had been due to have an interview with the accused murderess.

He revealed that there had already been hundreds of people who supported his cause and we willing to partake in the protest along with him, but once he had been notified by NBC themselves that no such interview existed, he called off the event.

Joseph elaborated his distaste for Anthony and her profit from her murder trial. He explained that such profit would inevitably result in a widespread backlash from the public.

"Any network that does have an interview with her will have a lot of backlash, will have a lot of boycotters," he said. "With social media the way it is, it's just going to take off."

However, Joseph admitted, "I kind of do want to hear her."

"Everyone would watch it," said Connie Chung who is a newswoman at Harvard University.

"The ratings would be through the roof. But I think the general public would be very anti-Casey Anthony, as they seem to be. ... They would denigrate the person who did the interview."

Despite the public's likely response of disapproval, the ratings of the TV network that got an interview with Anthony would undeniably undergo a hike in ratings, making it hard for them to turn down such a gargantuan opportunity.

Additionally, ABC, NBC, and CBS only clarified that they would not be paying Anthony for an interview. NBC elaborated that it would indeed accept an interview under their terms.

Beth Knobel, a former CBS News reporter who now teaches journalism at Fordham University labeled the TV networks' opportunities with Anthony as "the chance to ask the questions that America wants answers to and she never had the chance to give," since Anthony hadn't testified at her own defense during her trial.

Knobel went on to say that Anthony is already a defamed character in the eye of the world, and profiting from the trial will only grind the public's gears even more than they already have been.

"If she decides to cash in, it's just going to make people who hate her hate her even more," Knobel said. "And, let's face it she doesn't have a lot of credibility to start with."

As of now, it seems that Anthony has yet to make any money from the trial other than the supposed $200,000 that ABC gave her in 2008 for ownership of photos of her daughter Caylee.

However, only time will tell.
