Bethenny Frankel's talk show was a hit during its test run last year, but once it received a go for nationwide syndication, things began going downhill. Although the former Real Housewives of New York star recently received a bit of a spike, her ranking hasn't gone up at all which is a disappointment for those working on the show -- and for the network.
"She’s resorted to having her friends ask celebrities that they know come on the show lately," a source told Radar Online earlier tonight, November 4. "And once the guests show up they find out that everything is manufactured."
While it is typical that certain topics be reviewed and a bit scripted, Bethenny has reportedly gone off the grid in an attempt at getting the show more attention.
"All shows have a 'pre-interview' for guests where they talk about what Bethenny is going to say to them and then how they should respond. It’s basically a dry run for the show, but the guests say the pre-interview is totally fake. Bethenny has apparently started ambushing guests trying to start fights," the source explains. "So many shows end up a talk about sex and people are unhappy about that. One producer was furious and said 'I don’t know what her obsession is with sex, but maybe she’s not getting any so that’s why she has to keep talking about it.'"
Either way, she seems to be doing what she can to generate interest. "Bethenny is desperate and fake and it is really starting to show."
