Conspicuously absent from the MLB Network's lineup of on-air personalities, one would believe that Barry Larkin is no longer a member of the MLB Network. According to an unnamed source earlier this week, it is rumored that Larkin is leaving the Secaucus based network for ESPN's Baseball Tonight.
Larkin signed with the MLB Network in late 2008, and was part of the on-air crew when the station first launched its Hot Stove program January 1, 2009. He was recently in New York City this past weekend to introduce Joey Votto as the National League MVP at the Baseball Writers' Association of America dinner.
The 1995 National League MVP finished third in the Hall of Fame voting this year with 62.1% of the vote. Many insiders predict that Larkin's strong showing this year will lead to his enshrinement in 2012.
