Is Angry Birds finally coming to the BlackBerry PlayBook next week?

Angry Birds is probably the most popular cell phone game since the days of Snake.  You can get it on pretty much every smartphone or tablet, and can even play it in Google Chrome. Somehow the BlackBerry love has been missing. Rumor has it the popular bird-slinging pig-killing game will finally make its way to the BlackBerry PlayBook the week of Thanksgiving.

If you're a BlackBerry user, you've been forced to play alternatives to Angry Birds, most of which had pretty much the same game play but lacked the magic of Angry Birds. There was a website where you could play the actual game on your PlayBook, thanks to the Flash support, but again, that certain spark wasn't there.

Now after months and months of waiting, Rovio's best-selling game will most likely be available on the PlayBook in just over a week.

One of my spies sent me a message on Facebook earlier today letting me know that Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio, and another version of the game (most likely Angry Birds Seasons) will get ported to the RIM tablet.

There's no word yet on how much the app will cost or if there will be free versions like on other smart phones.

As of right now, this is still a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt.  It's still exciting to know that the world's most popular mobile game will finally get some love on BlackBerry devices.

Not to mention that once BBX rolls out we'll actually be able to play Angry Birds on our BlackBerrys.  It takes so little to excite a nerd doesn't it?
