Currently the No. 3 quarterback, Tanney has bounced around the NFL in a short period of time.
With everything on the line, Tanney finished 17-31 for 177 yards including an interception. Sacked six times he took three of the six on a two-minute drive at the end of the game. He left the Cowboys on the 11-yard line, but was unable to punch it in.
The Dallas Cowboys started as 3.5 point favorites, but were defeated 24-6 in their last preseason game of 2013
Playing behind the second and third offensive line is not an easy task at times, just ask Mark Sanchez, but while under pressure he showed agility and the ability to move.
Head coach Jason Garrett explained it’s hard to evaluate him due to the Cowboys lack of pass protection, “But then you have to assess how he responds to that. That’s part of playing this position,” Garrett said. “It looked like he kept his composure, moved around, kept his eyes up the field but just didn’t get into much of a rhythm throughout the ballgame.”
Final cuts are this Saturday and with the Cowboys cutting Nick Stephens they are still searching for a quarterback to develop.
Tanney has had brief stints with the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, but should his time end for the Cowboys?
