I had absolutely no plans on ever writing another piece on Miley Cyrus. Not because I don't care, quite the contrary, I am very concerned for her but I think the more attention she gets, the more she likes it. Then last night I ran across Sinead O'Connor's open letter to Miley and today nude photographs of Miley were brought to my attention by several people. Because of that I feel compelled to write this and maybe somebody out there can offer some help to this girl who seems to be drowning in the fame she is trying to create for herself. Here we go with the fine points of this story.
While America wants to give this girl the benefit of the doubt, hope and pray this is a phase she is going through or a extreme run of outrageous publicity stunts to sell CD’s and try and get her album to the top, it seems everyday something else happens that can only let us come to one conclusion, this person is in need of help, serious help sooner than later.
This girl is doing all of this and doing it in the public eye. This goes way past declaring her independence from Hannah Montana and being America’s Sweetheart. She is now America’s embarrassment.
MTV is running a special called – “Miley – The Movement,” where they followed her around for 3 months and we get to see her up-close and personal. She is foul mouthed and not at all somebody that was raised with manners, respect or modesty. What the special actually shows us is the Miley is a narcissist. For the folks out here that don’t know what narcissist means this is the definition: nar·cis·sist: A person who is overly self-involved, and often vain and selfish and a person who suffers from narcissism, deriving erotic gratification from admiration of his or her own physical or mental attributes.
The fact that she thinks her music or the controversy she is causing with her antics is a “movement” certainly shows us all that there is a problem with her.
She is spending lots of time hanging around with rappers, she is in fact speaking like a rapper and she has endorsed the use of drugs on more than one occasion publicly per her interview with Rolling Stone coming out this month.

What is so sad is that Bangerz is a good album. None of this vulgarity would have been needed for this album to get attention. Like Sinead O’Connor said in her open letter to Miley at: http://www.sineadoconnor.com/2013/10/open-letter-to-miley-cyrus/ “I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way ‘cool’ to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos. It is in fact the case that you will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be pimped, whether its the music business or yourself doing the pimping. Nothing but harm will come in the long run, from allowing yourself to be exploited, and it is absolutely NOT in ANY way an empowerment of yourself or any other young women, for you to send across the message that you are to be valued (even by you) more for your sexual appeal than your obvious talent.”
It is sad that Sinead feels the need to take a motherly voice with Miley as her own mother should be doing that. I encourage you ALL to go to Sinead’s webpage by following the link and read the whole letter. It is so full of good and correct and real advice and warning.
Now we have to ask, why are her parents not shutting this down and having her evaluated in a mental health facility? Her father has said over and over again, “she is an adult, I can’t control her. Both her parents have expressed totally pride and support in all that she does.
If Miley can’t see what is wrong here somebody needs to do it for her.
Her parents or other relatives if her parents think what she is doing is just fine may very well have enough evidence right now to file for conservatorship over her.
What we are seeing in the news might actually be enough to show a judge that there could be a mental health issue or a drug problem or erratic behavior because of drug use. Could she cause harm to herself? Well she certainly has murdered her character and killed who America thought she was.
Unfortunately, I fear that something really terrible will have to happen before someone takes action to protect this person who seems so readily available to prostitute herself for attention in extreme, vulgar and embarrassing ways.
They can’t think all that she is doing is okay, can they?
