If there was a way to eat during the holidays and not gain weight, would you be interested? Not only not gain, but lose weight in the process? Wtop reported on Dec. 4, 2013 that there is a way to eat everything you want and still win the battle of the bulge.
According to the new British diet, called the 5:2 diet, it entails five days of eating at a normal set calories, then two days of a reduced calorie intake of 500-1000 each day. The reviews are mixed, so far. There are people who rave about how this diet has freed him from their calorie counting diets, others who do not know how safe it may be.
Most critics believe this diet is a fad diet, and the result will be short lived. It takes a very high level of self control and dedication to be able to eat this way, especially the low calorie part.
The alternative, according to the experts is to use a small plate at parties this Holiday season. Eat a bunch of vegetables and fruits and only ‘sampling’ the foods that aren't good for you, junk foods. Another tip is to drink water with your beer, wine and foods. The experts claim you will definitely eat much less.
