Three men were killed and two other men were injured in a shooting at a New Jersey go-go bar in the early hours of Christmas morning. Slick’s Go-Go Bar in Irvington was the site of the shootings and blood shed, which started shortly after midnight, according to the Star Ledger on Dec. 25.
A police officer on the scene said two or more of the shooting suspects tried to enter the bar and were stopped by a bouncer who patted them down. The bouncer found a gun on one of the men, who then stepped back and shot the bouncer.
The same man killed a second man, who sources say was related to the owner of Slick’s Go-Go Bar. This happened outside the bar. A third man, who was with the suspects was shot and killed, but it is unclear if security at the bar took the man down or not. Details are still unclear.
Two other men were taken to the University Hospital in Newark, who were wounded during the shooting. Witnesses say two suspects fled the scene in a grey sedan at high speed. The police officer who spoke to the media wished not to be identified as this is an on-going investigation.
Names of the dead and injured have not been released to the public. Slick’s Go-Go Bar is located at Nye Avenue and 21st Street. The club was having a theme party called Sluddie Tuesday at the time of the shootings. It is not the first shooting this bar has seen. In 2010 a man was killed in a shooting at Slick’s.
There is no word on the condition of the two wounded men from the bar shooting.
