Irvine, train to Los Angeles: Jan. 28

This January 28, Chinatown in Los Angeles will be celebrating the 113th Golden Dragon Parade.  In keeping with this event, and to facilitate residents of Orange County to attend, OCTA and Metro Link are offering a special deal.

Since the mid-1980's the Golden Dragon Parade has grown to include two dozen floats, marching bands, government officials, and entertainers.  The Day of the Lunar New Year is the most celebrated holiday for nearly 1.5 persons of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese descent in the southern California area.

On Saturday there will be a free celebration, starting in Irvine, it includes train tickets, to travel to Los Angeles, to see the Parade in Chinatown.  The tickets will go to the first 100 people at the Irvine train station, at 8am on Saturday morning.  Free refreshments will be provided by Rubio's, and parking at the station will be free.

If you miss the free tickets, Metrolink is offering a $10.00 ticket, that lets you ride the train - all weekend - including the train to and from L.A to go to the Parade.
