Irvine Nature Center Voted Best Story Time in Maryland

Children, and even adults, enjoy listening to a good story – whether it is read in a book or told by an experienced storyteller. Every story is unique even when it is a recurring over generations; changing as it is retold. A good story will free the imagination while a great one will stir the soul.

Award-winning Story Time
One of the most popular activities at the Irvine Nature Center is the Tales and Tails program. Last year, Tales and Tales won the Maryland Family Readers’ Choice Award for the Best Story Time of 2013. What makes Tales and Tails special?

They tell some the best animal stories that bring a large audience every Friday. Afterwards attendees can “meet and greet” with some of Irvine’s animal friends.

This free program is open to all ages without registration. You just need to “show up”. The first session of the New Year is Friday, January 3 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Dates later in the month are January 10, 17, 24, and 31. Tales and Tails continue every Friday throughout the year.
