IRS forms available online

Any form you need and the publication explaining it is available on the Internal Revenue Service website, the department said Feb. 26 on Twitter.

The IRS maintains a page containing links to the most frequently downloaded forums and publications.

If what you need isn’t listed, use the search bar at the top of the page.

There is also a page listing all available current forms and publications.

An icon links readers to prior-year forms and publications, in case you need information that was current for a previous tax year you are working on.

Articles on the site are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you would rather call for the forms you need, the IRS can be reached at (800) 829-3676. Phone help is available from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. in your local time, with the exceptions of Alaska and Hawaii, which are treated as being on Pacific Time.

It will take seven-10 days for you to receive the forms in the mail.

If an IRS Tax Assistance Center is located near you, it may be more convenient for you to drop by and pick up the publications you need. An online tool will help you find out whether a center is close to you by typing in your zip code.

Some libraries and post offices may have a limited assortment of forms you need, the IRS added.
