Two years after cancelling the first New York City Ironman due to issues with transportation logistics and the $1,200 fee, World Triathlon Corp. will be coming back to the Tri-State area with a half-Ironman (70.3-mile) event in New Jersey in September 2014: Ironman 70.3 Princeton.

The race will be held on Sept. 21, 2014 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, New Jersey. The 1.2-mile swim is a single-loop course in the Park’s 365-acre lake, while the 56-mile bike ride, also a single-loop course, begins in the Park and continues throughout Monmouth County. The event's 13.1-mile run will be 2.5 loops on the Park's jogging paths and in Mercer County College.

Thee will be a $275 entry fee, with registration opening Dec. 16, 2013.
