According to ComicBook.com on Feb. 3, the "Iron Man 3" Super Bowl XLVII trailer reveals characters falling to their doom as well as an "extended look" by Robert Downey, Jr. on Facebook.
It appears the "Iron Man 3" trailer has been aired during Super Bowl XLVII and Tony Stark finds himself in quite a conundrum. During a breach on Air Force One, 13 passengers fall to their death, and Stark is the only one that can save them.
The only problem, Jarvis mentions that he can only carry four of them. Scenes from the trailer seem to show Happy Hogan, played by John Favearu, lying next to Stark in the aftermath. This could be symbolic of Favreau's departure as the "Iron Man" director.
The extended trailer includes Robert Downey, Jr. walking towards the camera, stopping immediately and staring down the audience in a rather intense look. After such a dramatic, opening pause, Downey says, “That might’ve been more extensive than extended”. Thus, it was close to being a pun, but not quite.
Phase two of the Marvel cinematic universe will kick off with "Iron Man" 3 being released on May 3 and will star Ben Kingsley as Iron Man’s villainous adversary, Gwenyth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as War Machine/James Rhodes, Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, Rebecca Hall as Maya Hansen, and William Sadler as Sal Kennedy. The film will also be directed by Shane Black.
