It’s no spoiler that Marvel likes to close their films with a closing scene that will lead or hint into another film in the franchise. The ending in “Iron Man 3,” however, might surprise fans. On Wednesday, Jan. 30, Latino Review got the exclusive scoop of the finale fans can expect to see, and it is really out of this world.
In an interview, Robert Downey Jr. was asked about any possible cameos in his third “Iron Man” film. “Everywhere you look now in every Marvel movie there are opportunities where certain new pals of his (Tony Stark) could be useful,” Downey Jr. tells the source. “So they’re in the atmosphere, so to speak, but I wouldn’t expect to see them on the ground in this one.”
The response is puzzling, but thanks to the Funko's company Pop! Marvel toy, Latino Review quickly put the pieces of the puzzle together. The new “Iron Man 3” Pop! Marvel toy (the picture previously attached to this article has been removed at the request of Funko) is Tony Stark suited up…in a ‘deep space suit.’ Yes – Stark will be traveling to space to meet up with the Guardians of the Galaxy!
Fans knew that the Guardians will somehow be linked to Phase Two, but no one thought it was coming this early. It makes sense though, who better to introduce the space heroes than Marvel’s favorite Tony Stark himself.
Latino Review sources also claim that Iron Man will be making an appearance in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” too.
“Iron Man 3” is scheduled to hit theaters on May 3. While “Guardians of the Galaxy” arrives to theaters on August 1, 2014.
