According to Bleeding Cool on April 7, a new "Iron Man 3" video clip displays the final moments of an accountant prior to being assassinated by The Mandarin. The President and his cabinet view the video monitor in helplessness while the public broadcast of this terrorist act occurs in 30 seconds.
The clip appeared during an airing of the Jonathan Ross Show with Sir Ben Kingsley as the guest. Also, take note of some familiar actors of the past like Miguel Ferrer of the 80s film "Robocop" and of course William Sadler, who played the Grim Reaper in "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" and "Die Hard 2". He is quite the familiar face.
This appears to be a great example of The Mandarin displaying his power, even going as far as stating how any average Joe can be made an example of a situation to prove a point of a terrorist plot. The Mandarin didn't pick any of power for leverage to meet his demands, but just someone ordinary that he intended on attempting to kill anyway.
