Iron Boy Promotions to partner with Top Rank Boxing for upcoming show

Iron Boy Promotions, a Scottsdale based boxing promotion company, announced today that they will partner with Top Rank Boxing to present "Iron Boy XV." The show will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix. The event will be televised on Unimas' Solo Boxeo Tecate.

This will be the second time Iron Boy Promotions and Top Rank Boxing will be working together, the success of the show last month in Phoenix produced an exciting card before a sell-out crowd.

The stellar card will feature some of Top Rank's up-and-coming prospects, Egidijus Kavaliauskas and Oleksander Gvozdyk will be featured on the card. Both Kavaliauskas and Gvozdyk are trained by famed trainer Robert Garcia.

Shane Mosley, Jr., son of former three-division world champion, “Sugar” Shane Mosley will make an appearance on the card and will be joined in the ring with his father.

Some of Arizona's best talent will grace the card as well. Without a doubt, the Arizona boxing landscape is on the rise and with the fight being televised, boxing fans across the country will see what Arizona boxing has to offer.

WBC USNBC Bantamweight Champion, Alexis "Beaver" Santiago will defend his title for a second time with an opponent yet to be named. Santiago hails from Phoenix, and trains at the famed Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas.

Some other Valley residents fighting on the card include Trevor McCumby in a scheduled six-round bout, McCumby had a unanimous decision win over Michael Gbenga on the last Iron Boy show last month. Also, Victor "El Nino" Castro will face Pablo Bercera. Castro was recently signed by Iron Boy Promotions and trains under the direction of three-time world champion Israel Vasquez at the Magnifico Boxing Gym in South Gate, California. In preparation for his upcoming bout, Castro has been sparring with Leon Spinks III.

Francisco De Vaca hopes to remain undefeated as he makes his eighth appearance on an Iron Boy card and is trained by Roberto Alcazar, former trainer to Oscar De La Hoya. De Vaca has much improved since teaming up with Alcazar and is inching closer for a shot at a title. Rounding out the Arizona talent, Edgar Brito, a tough kid with a bright future. Cameron Dunkin, one of boxing's most respected managers, will have his prospect, Alexis Zazueta fighting on the card. Zazueta, a fighter with a bright future, is a fighter that should be on your boxing radar. Blessed with speed and power, Zazueta continues to improve with every fight and will surely become a household name in boxing.

Carlos “The Chosen One” Castro will be making his ring return for the first time in a year, and will face Jair Quintero in what will be an exciting fight to watch. Castro is a crafty fighter, he is patient and finds opportunity when facing his opponent, striking with deadly force.
