Iron Boy Promotions to host WBC USNBC bantamweight title bout in Phoenix

Iron Boy Promotions announced it will host the WBC USNBC bantamweight title bout between the current champion, Alexis "Beaver" Santiago (15-3-1, 7 KOs), against Hanzel Martinez (20-1, 16 KOs) on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix.

It will be Santiago's first defense of the title after his impressive win over a tough Alex Rangel last year. Santiago dropped Rangel three times in round nine, the final knock down ending in a TKO win, giving Santiago the victory and the WBC USNBC bantamweight title.

Trained by veteran Raefael Ramos, a much improved Santiago has seemed to find his groove with Ramos, his last two wins have come by way of knock out.

Suffering the first loss of his career last year, Hanzel Martinez suffered a second round knockout with a crushing left hook thrown by Alejandro Moreno. The Mexican favorite will want to prove he learned from his loss, Martinez is the brother-in-law of former world champion, Antonio Margarito.
