Iron and Wine at The Norva

Iron and Wine's front man, Sam Beam, played an acoustic set at The Norva on February 21, 2014. Beam is known for his hauntingly beautiful voice and fans were anxious for his arrival on stage. Their anxious conversations were a little too loud for many at The Norva. It is hard to enjoy an acoustic set when the crowd is louder than the house speakers. Beam played with the loud audience and took everything in stride.

There is no doubt that Beam's voice and musicianship is a large draw at his live shows. While conversations were distracting at some points, there were other times where you could hear nothing but his voice.

Iron and Wine is still touring so if you are a fan I recommend going to a live show but do not expect a full band. If you appreciate his music and his voice you need to catch a show.

Take a look at the slideshow for pictures from the Norva show.
