Iroas, God of Victory is one of five new "god" cards making their debut in Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Journey Into Nyx." This fiery legendary enchantment creature significantly alters the amount of pressure you can apply to your nemesis during combat.

As long as your devotion to red and white is less than seven, Iroas isn't a creature.
Creatures you control can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.
Prevent all damage that would be dealt to attacking creatures you control.

Red white is one of the fastest color combination and a competitive strategy in Standard. There's a plethora of efficient and powerful Boros creatures to abuse, with all-stars such as: Boros Elite, Soldier of the Pantheon, Imposing Sovereign, Ash Zealot, Boros Reckoner, Fiendslayer Paladin, and Fabled Hero.

One of the problems of aggressive weenie Boros decks is that they'll run out of gas. Iroas, God of Victory helps ensure that you "get there" by making it harder for your opponent to block all your creatures, allowing several to slip past your rival's defenses to deal (potentially lethal) damage. Iroas, God of Victory protects your attackers from combat damage, meaning you don't need to worry about losing your weenie battalion creatures. Even if your adversary has a significant board position you'll be able to bide your time until Iroas, God of Victory transforms into a massive 7/4 threat, which will certainly be able to reduce your enemy's defensive position when it attacks each turn.

How will you use Iroas, God of Victory?
