Irish new energy device offers solution for UN climate talks

An Irish company, Steorn, today began public demonstrations of an ‘over-unity’ device powered by rotating magnets. Developed over a six year period, the Orbo technology provides a new energy source to power electrical devices and cars. It is claimed to produce more energy than it consumes at a ratio of 3:1, which has led to considerable skepticism from the scientific community. In a Press Release, Steorn announced a six week period for public examination and evaluation in Dublin Ireland from December 15 to January 31, 2010. Plans exist to develop the Orbo technology for commercial production and distribution.

If the Orbo technology demonstration is successful, it will revolutionize the energy industry and make it possible for fossil fuel production to end within a decade or two. 193 national leaders are currently seeking ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during the UN Climate conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Orbo technology, if viable, offers an easy affordable solution to increased global energy demand while significantly reducing global greenhouse gas emmissions.

In its Press Release Steorn announced:

Orbo technology, which has been in development for six years, provides free, clean and constant energy at the point of use. It can be engineered to power anything from a phone to a fridge to a car. It is controversial because it is an "over-unity" technology, meaning that it produces more energy than it consumes without the degradation of its constituent parts. This is an apparent violation of the Law of Conservation of Energy, which states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. The implications, not just for energy production but for society as a whole, are profound.

The public demonstrations are being streamed live at www.steorn.com/orbo. According to Sean McCarthy, Steorn CEO, "At the end of the six week demonstration period, developers will be able to access our technology and start the process of developing Orbo technology-powered products."

The Orbo technology is not the first time that an over-unity device has been invented and presented for public examination and inspection. The first over-unity system was developed and publicly tested by Dr T. Henry Moray. Dr Moray was an electrical engineer who developed some of Nikola Tesla’s ideas found in his 1901 Radiant Energy patent. Dr Moray developed and publicly tested his first functional new energy device that was able to draw energy from the environment. He successfully demonstrated his energy machine to many scientists and engineers who acknowledged that it genuinely worked and no fraud was involved. However, they could not understand why it worked. Moray’s device was then dismissed a priori since it appeared to violate conservation of energy laws. A long line of inventors have since come forward to demonstrate similar over-unity technologies, but again these have been dismissed a priori by most scientists as perpetual motion machines .

Unfortunately, the main stumbling blocks have been rigid scientific thinking concerning violation of conservation of energy laws, and powerful oil energy interests opposed to over-unity devices being seriously investigated. Ever since Dr Henry Moray, a sucession of over-unity devices have been developed. Scientific skepticism combined with claims of harassment by inventors has made it very difficult for over-unity devices to come to the attention of the general public, or to be considered for commercial production and distribution. Steorn’s six week public demonstration offers the scientific community and general public a first hand opportunity to learn of the practical feasibility of over-unity devices, even though they theoretically violate energy conservation laws.

Steorn’s public demonstration comes in the midst of the United Nations Climate Change Conference being held from December 7 to 18. On December 14, Al Gore addressed the UN Climate conference and discussed the inconvenient truth of climate change. Unfortunately, he exaggerated the rate of polar ice cap reduction which has led to more controversy over climate change. President Obama is scheduled to address the Conference on December 18, and is expected to commit the US to a greenhouse gas reduction target by 2020. If succesfully demonstrated, the Orbo technology offers a means for President Obama and other national leaders easily meeting increased energy demands while protecting the global environment.

As 193 national leaders seek ways to reduce greenhouse emissions over the next decade, through complicated carbon cap and trade deals, they would benefit greatly from understanding the practical feasibility of over-unity devices. The Orbo technology demonstration is a bold challenge to rigid scientific orthodoxy and vested oil industry interests. Here's to the luck of the Irish holding out in the commercial development and distribution of its over-unity device!

Scientists don't dismiss "over-unity" power sources a priori! They dismiss it them because they are incapable of being reproduced for experimental evaluation.

If anyone could demonstrate the ability to create energy today, then someone would try to sell it tomorrow. That's how energy works. It's the world's greatest commidity right now.

The unit from the video looks great and I hope the cost will be very reasonable so everyone could buy them at Home Depot, Loews or Walmart....

I will be looking to try and buy some myself.

What a load of tosh. The main stumbling block to OU devices is that they don't work. In a world where people think laws of physics are just "rigid scientific thinking", it's not hard to see why so many people eschew AGW theory.

Remember that your washing machine, airplanes, iPhones etc also work due to "rigid scientific thinking".

There are rules. - They can be played with....Although, not perfected with the kind of technology or devices we presently have. We need to expand our findings before we can attain better use of; super-conducters for example: frictionless movement with no energy loss (yeah, it'll go on forever). Which, promisingly....Scientists have recently been able to manufacture without the need to super-cool all parts of the particular conductor. Super-conductors will also cause a loss of weight, which is misconstrued as 'anti-gravity'...It's not, but it's potentially a new propulsion system. We're not there yet. However, environmentally, there are plenty of solutions with technology we DO have. - One of the solutions were ducks....A wave energy device previously discredited as 'more expensive than oil', which in fact was a load of rubbish. Ducks were efficient and still exist in a more efficient design today. They are NOT cost effective..When you're looking it through a power hungry banker's eyes!

...Following the last comment....I did here once my favourite description of why we can't just 'ditch' oil for better technologies....Which I could remember who said it, but it went something like this..."Our relationship with oil is like a very complicated marriage....With a VERY expensive divorce".
We can't just drop our connection with oil due to the fact that it is so important to us for so many things. It shouldn't be a slow process, because we simply don't have the time....However! it's a very difficult one.

"If anyone could demonstrate the ability to create energy today, then someone would try to sell it tomorrow. That's how energy works. It's the world's greatest commidity right now."

Exactly - All they have to do is demonstrate that it actually works and start selling them on the street corner. The real problem is that they can't demonstrate that it works as claimed. Is Richard Weir involved with this? (Sarcasm)

  • N1Knows 2 years ago

@ Flounder: No need for the note of 'sarcasm' there Flounder....The people who matter will have realised that it was! ;)

These machines DO work and dismissal because of some preconceived notion of ' laws' is nonsense. If they can produce enough extra energy to accomplish something then its a winner...if not whats the use? but for sure the oil cabals fight it tooth and nail, and it is ignorance of the worst kind to deny what you can see.

To dismiss an obviously working machine is the height of irresponsibility to science. Hey, the physical laws were done away with on 9-11 many times, according to the official story, so why not now?

Top O the Morning to ya Gents. Energy you say. Irish you say.

Doe it have anythin' to do with Guiness and Jameison Now?? If so then count us in. That'd be me an me cousins ya see.

Man has always felt that he had a firm grasp on what was and was not possible.

At one time, the world was flat and the center of the universe. This was absolute fact... until it wasn't.

Then there was the issue of flying and that heavier-then-air machines would never be able to achieve powered flight. Well, they did.

At one time, it was fully feared that traveling over 60 mph would cause one's skin to fly of the bones.

is Orbo for real? Well, there are two things we can be fairly certain of. If it is the real deal, it will not be welcomed before it is horribly, maybe even violently denounced. It would be a world changer... and there are just a lot of people making a lot of money while making energy to allow this to happen without a fight.

So Steorn claims this is an over unity device. If that is the case and he (supposedly) knows his engineering principles. Then he can make a more convincing video with his toy coupled to a capacitor instead of a battery.

All he will have to do is spin the motor a few times by hand then it will carry on running for ever with no battery.

As an eight year old I was fascinated by the idea of an electric motor charging a generator; Knicking the Earths magnetism; Utilising the discharging resonant ac off the electromagnets after the contacts have released. etc. etc. you know what? I discovered nothing. No breakthroughs, no hypotheses. Just "what goes up must come down" with losses in between.

This man has been talking about this for years and come up with very, very little indeed. I would be secretly mains independant by now, replete with a self charging electric car if it was me.

Big surprises if he doesn't end up in prison.

Perpetua mobile are really fine devices, since they can create a huge amount of human overunity belief-energy. So I'm very very keen to see, how Steorn will explain away the magnetization energy, they have to expend from their 10Ah 3.6V Li-ion battery to make their investors money go round. (Sorry, I wanted to mention the rotor, of course)

  • Jacques Credules 2 years ago

What I first didn't understand was how the smallish rechargeable battery could absorb all the excess energy output from the Orbo device without being damaged or even exploding. Then I figured out that the only possible explanation is that Steorn also invented a battery with orders of magnitude greater capacity than anything else in existence, but they don't even bother to mention it because Orbo will make all batteries obsolete.

I called over to see the Orbo exhibt at the Waterways Centre, here in Dublin, Ireland. I spoke to Seamus there he said the product is an overunity system. They hoped to draw the intention of electrical engineers and people with an electrical background who would experiment with the technology to satisfy themselves that it is real and hopefully start applying it to real life applications. They have filed all patents and have 22 employees which means they seem to be well funded. I even got a good quality t-shirt. Good to see an Irish company doing something which could be really big.
