Singer/songwriter Iris DeMent will make a stop Wooly's (504 East Locust Street) in Des Moines' East Village on Friday, February 15. The doors at Wooly's will open at 7 p.m., and the music will kick off at 8 p.m. Iowa City-area acoustic artist Sam Knutson will open the show. Tickets for the concert are $28 in advance and $32 the day of the show. They may be purchased at the Wooly's box office or online through Ticketfly. This show will be a 21-and-over event.

Iris DeMent's large family moved from Paragould, Arkansas to the Los Angeles area when DeMent was very young. DeMent grew up with an affinity for music and began writing her own songs at the age of 25. DeMent's debut album, Infamous Angel, did not crack the charts, but did produce songs that were used on television and on the big screen.
