Iran has made a medical-technological breakthrough, developing optical and skin bio-implants. Until now, the United States was the only country in the world capable of producing such technology.
This latest breakthrough adds to Iran's existing reportoire of bone, heart, artery, and tendon bio-implants. Bio-implants are a medical material made with a biological base and are designed to be compatible with body cells. They can be used to treat skin burns, chemical burns to the eyes and skin, and other diseases of, and damage to, the human body.
In Iran bio-implants have been equated with gold.
With the release of this news, Iran is reported to have become the world's first center for mass production of the bio-implants.
Iran claims that their success in breaking the U.S. monopoly on bio-implants, and their subsequent mass production of the implants, will allow them to market the products at reduced rates. They blame the United States' former monopoly for keeping the prices of the products at prices too high for individuals in most underdeveloped and developing nations to be able to afford.
Iran claims they will provide their implants to patients around the world, and Iranian medical experts estimate that by 2012, 70 percent of the international need for heart valves will be met with bio-implants.
Ramezanali Sadeqzadeh, deputy head of Iran's Industrial Development and Renovation Organization, predicted in an interview with the Iran Daily that Iran will launch a bio-implant center to research the latest global developments in the field.
He also stated that Iran had no plans to export their technology to make the implants, and that Iran would welcome investments from other countries to aid them in their research and development of the technology that will meet increasing global demand for bio-implants.

With all the doom and gloom heaped upon them by the western media, we forget this ancient nation is actually full of human beings instead of terrorists.
