An iPhone rumor says that Apple will unveil its new iPhone on Sept. 10 and that it will include a radical change in the look of its menus and icons but few other major enhancements, technology news website All Things D reported on Aug. 10.
But the iPhone rumor was short on other details about what might be called the iPhone 6, which follows on the heels of the iPhone 5 that debuted last September.
Apple is under pressure to release a new iPhone and step up the pace of innovation and the release of new products, PC Magazine said in writing about the new iPhone rumor.
While Apple is still enjoying brisk sales of the iPhone its overall share of the smartphone market worldwide has declined because of competition from Android-based phones, including Samsung and its Galaxy S4.
According to the iPhone rumor, any new iPhone would be running iOS 7, All Things D said. The new software includes a redesign of the look of the iPhone’s menus and icons, the iPhone rumor suggests. Other updates to the iPhone, it said, were mainly incremental, such as an improvement in photo organizing and more capabilities for developers.
So if the iPhone rumor has you on the edge of your seat, be sure to set your calendar for Tuesday, Sept. 10, to see if the iPhone rumor bears some truth.
