It seems the iPhone release date 2013 rumors that consumers have been hearing about a launch of the new smartphone in late September are becoming a bit more clear. Recently, some new potential evidence was unearthed pointing to a release date for the iPhone 5S on Sept. 20, after Apple makes an official announcement in over a week's time.
As reported by The Inquisitr on Sept. 1, an Apple employee's leaked calendar seems to confirm the release date for the new iPhone 5S. The site notes that the calendar "restricts the amount of time off AppleCare employees can take from September 15 through September 2." In addition, the time period matches up with blackout dates that major cell phone service providers such as T-Mobile have blocked off as "employee vacation blackout" times. Normally, the release of a hot new smartphone means increased business, requiring employees to fully available during the time.
While this isn't confirmed by Apple, it seems that most rumor mill sites are confirming the news. They're also keeping with the notion that Sept. 10 will be the date which Apple holds a special event to unveil this new iPhone, currently dubbed as the "5S." There's been additional rumors of an iPhone 5C coming out, which would be a cheaper, plastic version of the smartphone. It's possible the iPhone 5C could be unveiled at the same Sept. 10 event.
Another tip-off that the new iPhone is on the way is the recent "trade-in" program unveiled at Apple. With this program, which launched in the U.S. on Friday, customers who bring in their current iPhone will receive a credit towards the purchase of a new model. The program was "to assist customers who wish to bring in their previous-generation iPhone for reuse or recycling," according to an Apple spokeswoman, USA Today reported.
The last edition of the iPhone, the iPhone 5, was released by Apple back on Sept. 21, 2012, and demand exceeded the initial supply of smartphones available, due to the new model. The newer model, the iPhone 5S is expected to feature increased capabilities including better cameras for capturing video or pictures, as well as a fingerprint security feature which has been talked about quite a bit. It's also expected that Apple will roll out their newest upgrade for the mobile operating system, iOS 7 at the same Sept. 10 event where they officially introduce the iPhone 5S, and any other products.
