The Inn at Penn is located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
These renovations are part of an initiative to give the AAA Four Diamond Hotel more sustainable features, while providing customers with the latest in technology, comfort and convenience.
The Inn at Penn will be the first Hilton hotel as well as the first hotel in Philadelphia to introduce the Apple iPads equipped with Intelity/ICE® software to their guest rooms. The iPads will enable guests to access hotel services and information on their schedule in multiple languages while relaxing in the comfort of Hilton’s renowned Serenity BedTM.
Intelity ICE software
- Streamlines the process for guest requests
- Integrates the hotel's entire system by using portable devices, like the iPad, along with the standard hotel system
- Assigns requests directly to service personnel
- Reduces service hours by 80 percent
Intelity ICE (Interactive Customer Experience) software enables guests to order room service, check their account balance, check out, and get hotel assistance directly from the iPad.

The renovations at the Inn at Penn should be complete by March 2011.
The iPad is becoming a standard for luxury brands. It was not that long ago that BMW announced they were removing the optional DVD players from their cars, and replacing them with built in iPad holders.
The service industry is realizing that the iPad is not just a consumption device; it has real value in the business world.
The iPad is like a blank slate for businesses; it is just waiting for the proper software to show them what the iPad can do.
