iPad retail shopping app recieves funding for a smart idea

Today Sift, the iPad app that mines marketing emails to map users’ shopping fingerprints and deliver a beautiful shopping experience, announces their seed funding closure of $540,000. The company was originally backed by Tandem, the world’s first and largest mobile accelerator fund, and new investors include Shawn Wang, co-founder of Baidu and Unity Ventures, Deep Nishar, SVP of Product at LinkedIn, Bhupen Shah, co-founder of Sling Media, Sand Hill Angels and others.

Sift, which is reimagining the way consumers connect with the brands they love. It was only a year ago that Sift became a part of Tandem’s elite mobile acceleration program. In addition to funding, Sift received user acquisition and retention guidance, product and programming refinement, and a spacious office space in downtown Burlingame through the Tandem program.
