In the past year there have been two major trends in the fashion world. The first being celebrities developing their own labels with affordable brands such as Target, Kohl’s, and Ann Taylor. The second is technology and fashion coming to together to create some very chic accessories. The latter being my obsession right now in anticipation of the much talked about launch of the iPad 3. IPad's are so common in our everyday culture that it was just a matter of time before it became more than just a way to connect to the Internet. This fashion statement has extended to Boston's most popular style power houses. That being said, you need not travel beyond Back Bay to not only pick up Apple's latest gadget but also its fantastic cover.
The first cover that caught my beloved iPad's attention was J Crew’s Dodo case. This cover is in one word classic. It empowers many elements of sophistication and chicness. It is reminiscent of a vintage book cover that one might find in a shop around the corner. It has a Moroccan cloth exterior and bamboo binding that makes it both sturdy and eco-friendly. This more traditional style case can be found in their Copley location for just under one hundred dollars. However, they also have a Leopard Printed cover that is on sale for twenty four dollars to satisfy a person’s edgier side.
Diane Von Furstenberg is as dependable as any clothing line can be. It is no surprise that her dependability has quickly extended into the technology side of fashion. The reason behind her cases standing apart is her delicate and wonderful signature prints. Buds Tiny Coral, Leaf Meadow Tiny Navy, and Weave Tiny Blue are so enticing with their feminity and uniqueness that I could barely resist buying all three. The best part of these obviously stylish cases is their relatively low cost of one hundred and ninety five dollars. Her Newbury boutique also carries a Paddie Zip cases that represent more of her newer geometric styles. These are fun and bright and bring a different aspect to her more traditional styles.
The last case and a bit more of a splurge is Jimmy Choos Glitter Wrap. This cover is the most bold of the bunch with its multi-colored sparkle that is sure to stand out. Jimmy Choo is such a fashion icon and this iPad bag has inherited the highest quality that he continually offers. Saks in Copley mall carries this
dazzling case for four hundred and ninety five dollars.
Fashion and technology have come together to give us another way to express our inner diva without worrying about our bust, butt, or waist size. There are so many great cases to choose from!
