WalMart is selling the iPad Air, and it is already discounting Apple's newest iPad in part of its early Black Friday 2013 sales strategy. Apple is selling the iPad Air for $499. However, thanks to the WalMart pre Black Friday sales, you can get it for $479 at the retail giant, according to a Nov. 2 ZD Net report.
If you just cannot get to WalMart to pick up a new iPad Air, but you still want the great $479 price, there is great news. Target and Staples actually dropped the price of the iPad Air to $479 at their stores. Meanwhile, Best Buy still shows a $499 price point, but will price match if you ask for it. It is highly unusual for the iPad Air to be discounted right at its launch, so WalMart's $20 discount is a pretty huge deal. If you want to buy from Apple, you can expect to pay $499 for a new iPad Air.
Interestingly, the only iPad Air model you can save $20 on is the base 16 GB model, so if you are wanting more storage or additional options, do not expect to see the WalMart Black Friday sale on those models. Be sure to think carefully about any protection plan WalMart, Target, or other stores offer because oftentimes these are not good deals.
Does this $20 savings entice you to buy the new iPad from WalMart or another discounter than price matches? If you do buy yours there, will you also purchase your cases and other accessories there, or will you look elsewhere for the best prices?
